Revitalize Culture and Build Community

In Tibet and throughout the Himalayan region, Monasteries are the cultural and religious centers which lie well outside the populated towns.  Both the  Nakchu Community Cultural Center and Drikung Pe-Tsek Nang-Cho Lob-Ling Academy will be much needed local, nonsectarian centers that will provide religious and community services.  These services will range from not only providing education but also much needed medical care to these economically deprived regions.

Many members of these communities have expressed a wish for such centers within the town limits which will benefit the local people.  In doing so, it will serve to strengthen the Tibetan culture within these regions, which have faced difficulties in the recent past. These community centers will fill a local need and strengthen the future of the Tibetan population.
